Organics Recycling Training

Attend an Organics Recycling Training provided by the City of Minneapolis to answer any questions about new organics recycling. It's not too late to sign up!

As the City of Minneapolis continues to implement the Organics Recycling cart program they are providing Organics Recycling Training on Saturday April 9th.

  • Session 1: 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Dr. Reverend Luther King Junior Memorial Park
  • Session 2: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. at Folwell Park


Come to one of two sessions to get your organics recycling questions answered. Sessions will include brief presentations from organics recycling experts and hands-on demonstrations and tips to make organics recycling easy.

The training sessions will include brief presentations from Minneapolis Solid Waste & Recycling, the City's commercial organics compost facility (Specialized Environmental Technologies), and staff from Hennepin County's Environment and Energy Department. Attendees will also be able to sign up to be the Recycling Block Leader for their block and pick up free yard signs to promote organics. For more information visit

RSVPs are encouraged, but not required, to help Solid Waste & Recycling staff determine the appropriate amount of refreshments. RSVP by emailing or by calling 612-673-3536.
