The Construction Training Program is a 300 hour, 12 week course designed to provide short term technical training in the construction trades.
An information session about the Goodwill Easter Seals Construction Training Program will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM in Community Room at the Brian Coyle Community Center.
There is no cost to the participant. Training includes: construction concepts and fundamentals, construction math and measuring, blueprint reading, fabrication, framing, sheathing and finishing skills, installation of doors and windows. Students earn 36 continuing education units at St. Paul College. The program includes a combination of curriculum-based classroom instruction and shop work held at the Goodwill Easter Seals location in St. Paul (first 6 weeks) and paid construction site work experience (final 6 weeks). Participants also receive employment readiness training and job placement assistance.
Staff from Goodwill Easter Seals will at the information session on February 3rd to provide detailed information about the program, answer questions, and to do initial eligibility screenings.
